Teach an Léinn - About Us

About Us
Teach an Leinn, known to many as the 'Old Market House' was built in 1813. It was purchased by Tipperary North Riding Vocational Education Committee in 1992. This beautiful building was renovated on a phased basis Minimal alterations were made to its attractive façade during its refurbishment. Where possible old beams from the original building have been used in the interior renovations.
Teach an Leinn is the only centre in Nenagh established to provide a unique and personalised approach to adult education programmes ranging from basic education through to management training. A range of part-time options, including certified computer courses, childcare, leaving certificate are available to the public. Many participants have there fees covered under the Back to Education Initiative.
Second chance education is also provided for adults through the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS). This scheme provides long-term unemployed over the age of 21 with the skills needed (free of charge) to enhance their chances of gaining employment or progression to further education/training.
