The Further Education Support Service assists Department of Education and Science funded Providers, offering programmes leading to FETAC certification, in the devising and delivering of these programmes and the assessing of Learners. Currently there are 5 Support Officers based regionally around the country in:
- City of Cork VEC
- City of Dublin VEC
- Co. Cavan VEC
- Co. Wicklow VEC
- North Tipperary VEC
There is also a part time manager based in City of Dublin VEC.
The regional Support Officer for this area is Jenny Whelan and she is based in North Tipperary VEC (please click here for a map and contact details).
The Further Education Support Officers are all qualified teachers who have a very broad range of expertise in the Further Education Sector, such as Post Leaving Certificate, Youthreach, VTOS, Literacy, Community, Further and Prison Education.

The Support Service can deliver in-service events for eligible FETAC registered Providers and there are more details on this initiative on www.fess.ie. The Support Service also liaises between FETAC and Providers and is available to deal with queries from schools and centres via phone or e-mail.
