Adult & Further Education VTOS
VTOS, the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme. is a full-time education programme which was introduced in 1989 and is implemented by VECs throughout the country.
The programme provides long-term unemployed people, who are over 21 years of age, with the skills needed to enhance their chances of gaining employment or progressing to further education or training.
Emphasis is placed not only on raising the general education levels of the learners but also on facilitating personal development, preparing and or re-orientating students for the world of work.
North Tipperary VEC has two VTOS progammes - in Teach an Léinn, Nenagh and in Coláiste Éile Thurles
