Student Maintenance Grant Application Forms  are now available, you can download an application by clicking here, alternatively you can collect an application form from North Tipperary VEC Offices, Church Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.  If you require an application pack to be posted to you please forward a stamped addressed envelope with postage to the value of €1.95.

 Below is a list of the documentation you need to submit with your application.

  1. Original long version of Birth Certificate for applicant - if you do not have this, one can be obtained from the Health Services Executive.
  2. If you're employed, a P21 Balancing Statement form for 2009 - you will get this by contacting your Revenue Office.  You will also need a P60 for 2009 and/or a P45 if you have ceased employment during 2009 - both of these forms are available from your employer.
  3. If you have received redundancy during 2009 you will need a letter from your employer stating the gross amount paid and the number of years you were employed by them.
  4. If you are in receipt of a payment from the Department of Social and Family Affairs and/or the Health Service Executive you will need a statement for 2009 showing the type of payment and the total amount paid in 2009.
  5. If you are self-employed you will need a Notice of Assessment for 2009 and a full set of audited accounts for a year ending between the 1st January 2009 - 31st December 2009.

Scheme Details

North Tipperary VEC assess applicants under three schemes, Post Leaving Certificate (PLC), Third Level Training Grant Scheme (TLT),  and VEC Scholarship Scheme (VEC).  Details of the schemes can be obtained by clicking on the scheme as listed below.  

Post Leaving Certificate Grant Scheme - relating to courses delivered in Second Level Schools and some Further Education Centres and Colleges.  These courses are usually at FETAC Level 5 and Level 6.  See School or College Prospectus for lists of courses;

Third Level Training Grant Scheme - relating to courses delivered in the Institutes of Technology throughout the Country.   See Institute Prospectus and Central Applications Office website for details of these courses, (website is www.cao.ie).

VEC Scholarship Scheme - relate to courses delivered in the Institutes of Technology and University of Limerick and Dublin City University.  See Institute Prospectus and Central Applications Office website for details of these courses, (website is www.cao.ie).
